Replacing DECT Phones with ATA

We currently have a Uniden R055+1 plugged into an ATA connected to Conversant which we use for our Land line. It doesn't get a lot of use, but it can be useful from time to time. It has a speakerphone on the base. The problem is the batteries don't last very long and despite having 2 handsets one or both is almost always flat making using it a pain. Replaced the batteries and didn't really improve. We have a similar Panasonic system upstairs and it's pretty much the same (worse). My wife has a Uniden headset (Bluetooth I think) connected to it.

We are wondering about switching to a different solution, maybe a Yealink, but I can't seem to find a solution that would give her hands-free headset functionality as well.

We want the same functionality that we have where we can answer the ringing line from any phone.

It would be ideal if the base had a handsfree function.

I am wondering if perhaps we got a couple of decent but inexpensive smartphones, with Bluetooth and ideally wireless charging that we could connect up instead?

Thoughts?
