Hi I purchased Gigaset C530 phones for myself and family. One son in Wellington and myself in Christchurch can talk Gigaset to Gigaset with no problems. The other son in Perth has set his phone up and cannot make or receive Voip calls at all. He can access the echo service and gets an echo but when calling either of the other phones, we get a ring but no voice. He has checked all his connections and has also spoken to Gigaset Australia and they went through the connections with him as well. He can make calls via landline. He recently upgraded his router / modem. can anyone offer any suggestions?

2Talk + FreePBX - Trying to pull from 2Talk when a new VM exists and push a MWI out to extensions on FreePBX
Hi All,I have a setup that means my 2Talk numbers terminate in two places - my laptop for when I'm mobile and a FreePBX install at home, so that we can use "normal" phones for making and receiving calls. At home, we also use chan_mobile to connect the mobile phones to Asterisk to make and receive calls (The outbound routes are configured to use the mobile phones first before the 2talk lines) - and this is the reason that I don't just use 2Talks cloud solution. What I would like to do is to use the Voicemail that comes with 2Talk, instead of the voicemail internal to FreePBX - but what I need to do is retrieve the voicemail information from 2Talk and pass it through to Asterisk.I've tried both "mwi" and "unsolicited_mailbox" (from https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Message+Waiting+Indication), but haven't had any luck with either. I was reading through the debug information, but given I was doing this very late at night and not getting anywhere, I decided to put it down for a while and see if anyone in the GZ community had any experience with this.Thanks!WazzaGeek.

2Talk SMS Native Application
Hi, this is my first post. I have just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5 mobile, and as I don't use voice calling all that often I have only a data sim installed. For those occasions I do need to use voice I have set up a 2talk account, and I am using the phones native dialler.Question: Is there anyway/a better way to get SMS without having to download the 2talk app? Can this also somehow be used via the phones native message application? Appreciate any assistance.

Adding and managing a second VOIP number for business purposes?
We intend to move our current phone number to 2Talk when we move ISPs; I've been advised that porting over the number as cloud PBX line attached to a free 2Talk account is the cheapest option, so I'd planned on doing that.Anyway, we are also looking at establishing a second local number to provide a no-cost option for those needing to contact my wife for business purposes (ie, so they don't have to call a mobile number). My questions in regards to this are:1. What's the most efficient way of doing this? Can I purchase a local number from 2Talk, and just have this another cloud PBX line attached to the same account? (Or does it get more complex and costly requiring a local number?)2. Can we manage the way calls to this number are dealt with? Essentially, the ideal would be for calls to this second number to be diverted to and only ring on my wife's cellphone, not to ring at home. If this is possible, I'm assuming she'd need to be connected to mobile data and be running a SIP app on her phone at all times?3. Are we just making this too complex, all in an attempt to provide a free-call number? A few years ago I would have thought providing only a mobile for contacting a business would be a no-no, but today not so much? Thanks for any advice on offer...

Video conferencing for small business - off-the-shelf hardware solution
Hi - I want to set up video conferencing equipment to connect Wellington and Auckland offices.I'm thinking around 50" screens at each site, with dedicated cameras/mics etc. Ease of use is also important.I want to purchase the equipment and have it installed. I'm not interested in leasing, or paying ongoing costs for proprietary software/service.Question: Hardware - any recommendations for price effective off-the-shelf hardware solutions?cheers

Configuring SPA112 ATA
Hi, I have a Cisco SPA112 ATA connected to a Netgear R7000 router which in turn is connected to a Vodafone Cisco cable modem.I was trying to set up VLANs across these devices as 2talk VoIP calls were dropping whenever anyone else used the internet for downloading browsing etc.During this process I set the Enable VLAN parameter in the SPA112 Network setup to On. This stopped the SPA112 from being recognised by the R7000 router and also now I can't access the SPA112 to change the config and disable VLAN. I have the IP address of the SPA112, but browser won't connect. Also there doesn't appear to be an IVR command to reset this parameter via the phone handset. Any thoughts on how I go about this - I don't want to factory reset as don't have config backup which has taken me months to get right.

Brother MFC - VoIP Faxing
Hi there. I have a customer in Tauranga who has recently changed over to UFB with Spark. They are now unable to receive a Fax using her Brother MFC printer but she can still send after a few attempts. Is there any MFC printer that is fully compatible with FAX over the UFB service? FAX over email has been suggested but traditional fax is required.Cheers, Mike

Help with the 2talk billing system
I suspect I have totally got the wrong end of the stick.Does the 2talk system require you to (ideally) have auto topups (from your credit card for example) to pay the balance each month.ie they dont bill you the monthly amount and charge that against your credit card do they? I foolishly had a free account with $10 credit and have now ported my landline over to 2talk. It now shows as a -$12 balance. I had thought setting my credit card in as an 'auto debit' meant it would be charged each month - which is hasnt. So its really only 'auto debit' when you use it to do topups on your account - is that right? So I always need to have my account in enough credit to pay any charges?

Draytek VoIP, not a good time?
Long time Draytek fan and own both a 2830n+ and a 2760vn.
We use the 2760vn as a business router with a VoIP line provided by our ISP. Connection/call quality was always a bit dodgy, sometimes requiring a router restart. I assumed it was a factor of being on a fixed wireless service and didn't do anything about it.
I've recently moved to a new ISP (with a more stable fixed wireless connection) and problems persisted.
The ISP informed me that they've moved away from Draytek gear recently because their VoIP firmware is poor, causing issues like echo and failures to register SIP line etc.
Having read a bit of this forums sticky, it seems that misconfiguration is rife, so I was looking for an opinion by experts who've used Draytek VoIP gear.
Is Draytek's firmware flawed by design in any way? Or, with some tweaking of the config should a Draytek hum along with no issues? (pretty sure my ISP resells a basic 2talk service)
This is going to determine if I bin the Draytek and buy a Linksys router + ATA.

2talk vx WXC
Hi - apologies if this has been asked recently. I did a quick poke around and couldn't see anything that wasn't from a while back.We will be getting Fibre to our street soon and, given Vodafone's refusal to go Fibre in a Cable area, are reviewing our options in case we want to make a move from Cable. One of the things that we don't want to happen, if we were to move away from Vodafone, is the loss of our phone number and so I understand that one way around this is to port the number to a VoIP provider. So I'm currently looking at the VoIP options and I see that there seems to be two main (only?) players - 2Talk and WXC. They both seem to have the same price but 2Talk has free minutes where WXC doesn't.Basically just looking for a steer about whether I should be favouring one over the other. Basically I work in IT so am fairly technical but don't know much about VoIP so I don't know if that helps steer things to a particular provider or not. Thanks in advance for any advice.

2Talk with Panasonic KX-TGP600 Cordless Sip Phone settings?
Hi allI'm currently in the process of setting up our office based on 2Talk. We'd like to have a cordless SIP phone along with Cisco desk phones in the office. The Cisco SPA303 was super easy to get going and is working great. The Panasonic KX-TGP600 meanwhile has a confusing, very technical admin page and there are limited info on 2Talks page. I've emailed them asking for some pointers but saw others are using Panasonic phones on 2talk so though someone could point me in the right direction.I've attached a cap of one of the lines current settings. All I get in the status with these settings is "Registering" Also the phones log is reporting this -Mar 15 07:41:30 KX-TGP600AL local3.debug SIP(L8) SEND[712]: [SIP] 07:41:30 [3052912640] ERR Sip SLTrmTrRelease was failed : error=0xA0A4800BMar 15 07:41:30 KX-TGP600AL local3.debug SIP(L8) SEND[712]: [SIP] 07:41:30 [3052912640] ERR Sip SLTrmClosePort was failed : error=0xA0A4800BMar 15 07:41:30 KX-TGP600AL local3.debug SIP(L8) SEND[712]: [SIP] 07:41:30 [3052912640] ERR Sip SLTrmClosePort was failed : error=0xA0A4800BMar 15 07:41:32 KX-TGP600AL local3.debug VOIP[547]: [SIP] 07:41:32 [3053617152] ERR SLApi Not Initialized : error=0xA0E2800C(-1595768820)Mar 15 07:41:32 KX-TGP600AL local3.info SIP(^X^Sû∂^L{'≥'Úâ∂»^A[547]: [SIP(L1)]Registration failure by (403)Thanks!

Ban International VoIP calls into NZ ?
Please tell me Im reading this wrong, but they want to kill off VoIP in NZ for international calling ?"What's going on at the moment is so harmful to society that there needs to be a regulatory response to it to either make it impossible to make voice over IP calls out of or into New Zealand or at least strengthen the protection so if they do things they shouldn't they can be stopped." http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11596065

Using 2Talk on mobile (Zoiper SIP) while overseas?
Will 2Talk work overseas? I have my VOIP through 2Talk and it works very well. Calls ring at home and also on my mobile through Zoiper. So it does not matter where I am, the moment my home phone rings my mobile rings as well (provided I have a data connection). My question is, if I am overseas, will this still work? I assume so - provided I have a data connection overseas. But this is technology and I am quite sure there is a curly one in there somewhere.Any thoughts? Am I quite correct in my assumption that this will work overseas?

Skype to cease on Samsung TVs
Hope this is the right place.I am one of thousands of Skype users who use Skype on a Samsung smart tv who are going to end up with an expensive web cam than cant be used for anything else as Skype are ceasing to support there app on Samsung tv's. Cant say I understand why as Skpe havent said much yet about this. Used Skpe almost daily to stay in contact with family members. Watching on the big screen was great. Supposed to end in June.

2Talk Line Number Ported Incorrectly
Through no stupid fault of my own I inadvertently ported a fax number from Spark to 2Talk as a fax line instead of voice line, I never noticed until the ported was completed. We had been using a fax number as a private line at home for many years because of the duplex rings we could identify between our main number and the private fax line so when we shifted from Spark to 2talk it made sense to take that number with us.Anyone know if the number can be easily configured from fax to voice through 2talk without going through any major line configuration changes like re porting it again?

2Talk authorisation PIN trap for new accounts
Just thought I'd post this here for the benefit of anyone else getting started on 2Talk...I've been having a play around with the free 2Talk account prior to porting our landline to them. I installed Zoiper on my phone and registered my account with no problems. When I dialled a number and got the voice prompt to "Please enter your password, followed by the hash key", it wouldn't accept the PIN number that was set for my account. It took me far too long to realise that I needed to change the PIN away from its initial value in the online control panel before things started working - there was no prompting I noticed saying that this was necessary.I hope that saves someone else a few minutes of frustration...

IPFX softphone
Hi,I am interested in understanding the basic setup of the IPFX softphone software that runs on Windows. The idea is that wherever you are on the internet, you have an extension that can both receive calls and send them is this right? Is there any restriction on ports or server setup that would not allow you to use this software from a standard WiFi router or 3G Wifi hotspot? Thanks, John

Number not available
Not really sure where this query should go but I have a rather strange voip/telephone problem that has me completely flummoxed.I am on Orcon fibre voip and at least two people can't get through to my landline number. They get a message that the number is not available or words to that effect. Lots can ring me and I have no problem ringing out.One of the people with this problem is now on Trustpower fibre voip and I am not sure whether the second is POTS or voip. What on earth could cause this and who would I ask to fix it??
